A woman with long brown hair, wearing a black shirt and a colorful backpack, is standing outside in a wooded area. She is smiling and touching the trunk of a large, old tree with textured bark. The background features green trees, a cloudy sky, and a distant landscape.

I hold a qualification in Professional Garden Design having graduated from the Cotswold Gardening School with a distinction and a certificate in basic Permaculture design.

Originally from London and a background of theatre, set design and props I have lived and worked as a gardener throughout the Stroud area of Gloucestershire since 2018, helping to develop, curate and maintain many different styles and sizes of gardens.

My Approach

I am interested in creating efficient gardens that proritise wildlife and the natural ecosystems of the particular garden. I think it is important to utilise and recycle the ‘waste’ produced in maintaining the garden. For example composting, wormeries and areas of naturally decomposing wildlife habitats.

This ‘closed loop’ system not only reduces adverse impact on our greater environment but also encourages the health of the natural systems at work in our gardens. This then improves the productivity and resilence of both soil and plants, ensuring harmony with wildlife and joy for all.

Using a combination of VectorWorks CAD software and both loosely and precisely drawn sketch techniques, I can create a clear and easliy understandable design concept. Working with the natural world, I feel the translation of ideas is best conveyed in hand drawn images to capture the organic essence of the plant life.

In close and continual collaboration with clients I can advise and develop workable ideas for the future of your outdoor space. This could be as little or as much input as you desire. From sketches to help visualise potential options, guidance on planting, a full scale new design or a reworking of a tired border and anything in between. I translate ideas and suggestions into plans and illustrations to inspire, refer to or to build directly from.
