GARDEN DESIGN

Whatever size or shape of outdoor space, I can enhance areas in need of change or create a whole new garden. Using a combination of digital sotware and hand drawn illustration I can develop a complete and accurate design.

Sometimes a full and complete garden design can be more time consuming or costly than feels appropriate to complete so, I break down the process of garden design into stages so that as much or little of the project can be done at any time. These stages are;

  • Initial site analysis and developed design brief.

  • Assessment of specific requirements. Concept images and plans.

  • Detailed accurate Master Layout Plans. Proposed Planting Plans.

  • Technical drawings. Materials bill. Planting Plan and schedule. Tender package for contractors.

GARDEN CONSULTATIONS

Initially I provide a carefully developed questionnaire to be completed as fully by a client as they want or in collaboration with me. This covers any general needs and desires as well as any challenges or constraints felt about the ouside area being addressed.

  • 2 hour garden visit

  • Overall assessment of current space

  • Clarification of questionnaire in relation to gardens constraints and possibilities

  • Discussion of ideas and requirements

  • Followed by a developed plan of suggsted actions

  • A list of suitable planting ideas

OPTION 2

  • 6 hour site visit

  • Thourough and detailed assessment of existing space including soil analysis and element exposure

  • Detailed review of questionnaire in relation to constraints and possibilities

  • Full discussion of ideas and requirements and budgets

  • Followed by a developed plan of propsed actions

  • Plants suggestions and care notes

  • Conceptual images to translate ideas using Mood Boards and hand drawn sketches

CONCEPT PACKAGE

Having received a completed questionnaire and having met to fully discuss aspirations and intentions for the outdoor area, I would create a clear Brief with proposed fees and timescales that we agree on, to clarify requirements and to create a full Concept Package from.

After a site visit I compile a full analysis of the area to include in the report. With continuous client collaboration I create a package including Mood Board images, hand drawn sketches and proposed scaled plans to illustrate the potential ideas discussed for the site. This can then be used to create a further more detailed precise design to professionally build from, or as reference to implement changes at your leisure.

PLANTING PLANS

Whether an old border needs invigorating or a whole garden requires a new considered planting scheme, I can advise on appropriate plants for the area and client requirements.

After an assessment of the area and discussion about the type of planting wanted (or ot wanted), I would draw up scaled plans to create a planting scheme and an accurate schedule and costs of chosen plants.

If required I can source, purchase, deliver and plant up the plan.

Concept Sketches

I create hand drawn sketches and illustrations to convey design ideas and possibilities. Using various techniques including photographic and 3D model overlay for accurate perspectives if useful.

I also create commissioned illustrations.
